Outreach Partners Hold On-the-Ground Events to Push Californians to Respond to the Census
Many events will use innovative marketing, such as digital billboard trucks, to move low responding areas to take the Census before a U.S. Census Bureau worker knocks on doors
CALIFORNIA – Local outreach partners are deploying unconventional marketing tactics to get low- responding communities to complete the Census. With the help of digital billboard trucks, this grassroot high energy effort, is timely considering the U.S. Census Bureau is sending Census takers door-to-door into neighborhoods that have not responded. Door-to-door Census enumeration has started and will go through September 30, ending a month earlier than planned as ordered by the U.S. Census Bureau.
Billions of federal dollars are at stake. The message is clear – all Californians should respond now – before an enumerator follows up in person – online at https://my2020census.gov, by phone at 844-330-2020 (a list of in-language options is available here), or by mail if they received a paper form.
